College Fashion Week x Spindrift Sparkling Water

College Fashion Week | Lots of Sass Blog

This post is sponsored by Spindrift and Her Campus Media. All opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting the brands that make Lots of Sass possible!

Hey y’all! Happy Friday 🙂 Anyone else ready to throw their hair in pony and sip on a cocktail this evening? Because I sure am. This week has been a little crazy, but I can’t complain about the good that has come from it. This girl needs a margarita and furry blanket ASAP.

I am super excited to share more about College Fashion Week last weekend in NYC! I mentioned a little in this post but there’s so much more share. Along with great fashion and get networking, there were a several wonderful brands that each had activation sites throughout the show. My favorite had to be Spindrift sparking water. Spindrift® is America’s first and only sparkling water made with real, squeezed fruit plus the only colors and sugars come from the fruits themselves, nothing else. Yup, that’s it. On top of being unique in many ways, I love that Spindrift’s activation site had so many of their flavors available for us such as Grapefruit, Orange Mango, Strawberry, Raspberry Lime and Blackberry. I can just be completely honest and tell y’all that I had every flavor available that night. I totally split cans with the girls I met, but I just had to try them all, especially since all flavors are not sold near me. (By the way, Sprindrift sparkling water can be purchases at your local Target, in-story only). Stephanie and I, had so much fun filming boomerangs and short video clips on Saturday with Spindrift and hanging out with all the lovely staff. Since Spindrift was the official beverage sponsor at #CollegeFashionWeek, it was great to chat about the flavors with everyone there since there was plenty of drinks to go around to the influencers during the VIP hour and until the end of the entire show.

After the show, I was able to grab my favorite flavors from Target and make a few cocktails during my trip home to New Jersey. You can pour one can, your favorite liquor and fruit slices into a shaker to mix evenly. Then, pour over ice and add a splash of soda, juice and/or flavored syrup and add fresh fruit to make the perfect cocktail.

College Fashion Week overall was such a fun experience that I hope to be able to do again next year. I loved that all the models were real, diverse and confident college girls with all different body shapes, sizes and colors. This was also a great time to network with brands, try new products from Ulta and BedHead and connect with other influences – which is always so fun. Have y’all heard of #CFWNYC or #CFWBoston ? If not, you M U S T check them out of next season. So many great reasons to go plus have a great time learning about new fashion trends/brands this season. Well, that’s all that I have for y’all today! Let me know in the comments if you have been to College Fashion and/or in you would want to go next year <3 – xo, Azanique

    Transitional Date Night Dress

How to wear an orange transitional dress for date night looks at season long

Dress (Use code “SUPERSAVINGS” for 15% off) // Shoes //  Necklace // Earrings

Hi, friends! Happy Thursday aka FridayEVE 🙂 I hope everyone has had a lovely week! This is my first of two posts this week and I am so excited to share this dress today and share my experience at College Fashion Week tomorrow. Have you heard of College Fashion Week? It is an awesome show put on by HerCampus where all the models are real life college girls aka representing all shapes, sizes, colors and individual styles. If you were following me on Snapchat, you saw the VIP/Influencer pre-show hour with fun sponsors such as Ulta, Spindrift, Primark and more, plus tons of goodies. Y’all, I wish I could have taken each of my readers with me because the experience was that great. I totally plan to go next time and grab my group of gal pals for a road trip. In addition to that fun time, I got to spend some quality time with my friends and family this week while visiting home before I started my new job this week. The last week has been such a exciting time: ending of one job, road trip to NJ, College Fashion Week, picking up freelance clients, starting a new job and a few more things in between, but I am so grateful because this is the life I prayed for for so long. I am also feeling so grateful for my readers that have given me so much positive feedback and inspiration for places to take the blog <3

So y’all, I am absolutely in love with this dress from PinkBlush. By now, y’all know that PinkBlush is one my favorite online retailers. You can check out all my outfits from them: HERE. Not only do I feel like this color would love great on ladies of all skin tones, it is also the perfect transitional piece for fall, winter and spring. Here, I am styling this dress with my favorite shoes by Guess, a simple necklace from The Starfish Project and Seed Bead earrings from New York and Company. My earrings are a $20 dupe version for the $75 pair I found earlier this year and I cannot find one difference between the two. Here are a few other ways I could see this dress being worn:

    • Tall boots and a fur vest
    • Printed cheetah flats and black light puffer jacket
    • Anorak vest and pumps

This dress will be on repeat throughout the seasons for me and I ain’t mad about it! What are your favorite transitional pieces? Dresses are always a great staple piece for me and so are colored jeans, but I am always looking for more pieces that can worn over and over again styled in various ways. Well friends, that’s all for today! Thank you so much for reading 🙂 Be sure to let me know what your favorite transitional pieces are in the comments and check back tomorrow for my post all about College Fashion Week. -xo, Azanique

    #Olay28Day Challenge

#Olay28Day Skin care challenge routine for women of color beauty maintenance reduce dark spots and uneven skin tone brightening mask

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Olay. The opinions and text are all mine.

Hey y’all! I hope everyone has had a lovely week. I am so excited to finally have finished #Olay28Day Challenge! With the seasons changing, I was in need of a new skincare routine, and this challenge was perfect for me. Something that I tend to struggle with having combination skin is that some moisturizing products are too greasy and some matte solutions are too dry. See my problem here? But, before I indulge all the challenge results, let me tell you what I was looking for before starting.

    1. Clearer complexion – glowing skin
    2. Less dry spots/dry skin on my face – hydrated skin
    3. Lightening of dark mark/scars – radiant skin

Pretty simple, right?! All of these above “wants” are common amongst women of color, that’s what I am so excited that Olay has skin care items specifically for women of color and the special needs of their skin. I honestly was looking to gain a fresh face, how did I get started? Here’s the breakdown:

    1. Morning and night cleanse with the Olay Luminous Micellar water
    2. Morning and night, apply a thin layer of Olay Luminous Miracle Boost Concentrate
    3. Morning, apply a thin layer of Olay Luminous Hydrating Lotion
    4. Night, apply a thick layer of Olay Luminous Overnight Mask

So, what’s my verdict? L O V E, love it. The main results I saw from the #Olay28Day Challenge was lightening of dark spots and scars. Also, my skin was much smoother, particularly from using the Overnight Mask. If you have oily skin, I suggest using a thin layer of the Overnight Mask to avoid making your skin more greasy. I also suggest using 3-4 drops of the Miracle Boost Concentrate because that product in particular is for fading dark spots and uneven skin tones. Below, is a midpoint and an ending.

Overall, I found the #Olay28Day challenge to be beneficial and sensitive to my skin needs. In case you skipped straight to the bottom, here’s a brief overview.

    • Perfect for cleansing and getting rid of excess oil
    • Fades dark spots and scars
    • HYDRATES skin
    • Light day lotion to freshen skin
