Ladies Paint Night at Pinot's Palette in Apex, North Carolina

This post was created in partnership with Pinot’s Palette in Apex, NC.

Hi friends! Happy FriYAYYAYYAYYAYYAYYAY! Can y’all tell that I am excited for the weekend? Tomorrow, my mom and I are headed to Seasons52 in Raleigh for lunch then to Cary for the North Carolina Football Club last home game of the season. My mom and I rarely get to spend this type of time together because we both have pretty busy schedules, so I am really excited for her to be able to join in on some fun this weekend. Seasons52 is located in the Crabtree mall, so I definitely will make a few shopping stops that I know my mom will dread, but I’ll do it anyway. (oops) Am I the only one who has friends/family/parents complain when you go shopping with them but they somehow always end up in your closet when they need something to wear? Mhmm, I didn’t think so!

So last month, I got to spend time with the TriFABB ladies and enjoy an afternoon of painting and mimosas at Pinot’s Palette in Apex, North Carolina. Secretly, I have always wanted to go to one of these classes but have been so terrified because honestly y’all, I am not a good artist. Thankfully, the artist at Pinot’s Palette was very patient and thorough when teaching! Both the owner and the class instructor were helpful and understanding of us when we wanted to stop to take pictures and do 85 boomerangs before getting the perfect one. #BloggerProbs Something that I loved was since we went on a Sunday, their bar special was bottomless mimosas for only $12. Can you believe it? Perfect to sip then paint then sip again, especially when your painting starts to look a little crazy. After we got done painting, we took a tour of the entire facility where they had blacklight rooms, kids spaces, a large bar and paintings on every wall throughout. Altogether, I would definitely go again with my friends for a small party or special Girl’s Night Out. Since I didn’t have much space in my apartment to hang the painting, I gave my finished product to my momma 🙂

Friends, what special things do you have planned for the weekend? Let me know if the comments so I can be excited with you <3

    Work Wear Wednesday

    Work Wear Wednesday: Mint Pants

old navy mint color work wear pants for young professionals and millennials women

Hey, friends! Happy Wednesday to ya <3 Did everyone have a great weekend? I mentioned last week, that the next two weeks would be fairly busy for me so last weekend I got to relax and finally had time to unpack from my last trip and clean my house for fall. Monday, I got to enjoy a fabulous dinner with some North Carolina bloggers at The Cowfish in North Hills. Y’all, if you haven’t been there, I HIGHLY suggest you go right now. It was my first time going and I can promise you that I will be back again soon. I will share more about our entire experience next week, but I was just happy to be surrounded by great friends, laughter and great food. One thing that I have quickly learned in the blogging world is that you have to have a support team. It doesn’t matter if they are your actual accountability partners or just people you can laugh with, but you need them there. I am always so grateful to have found so many great pockets of friends and gal pals through the blogging world that continually are there for help and to be helped!

In case you missed it, I decided to continue my #WorkWearWednesday series for a little bit because honestly, I just couldn’t get enough. So, today I’m back sharing some of my favorite work wear staples in one look. 1. The Harper pants from Old Navy. These pants are a must for your work wardrobe. I love that they are straight leg capri cut because with being short, work regular pants are usually too long but capri fall at the perfect spot on my leg. 2. Classic nude pumps. These may a bit obvious, but I run into so many girls that don’t have a classic nude heel that they can wear for work, church, special events and everyday. This pair is from Old navy, but Sam Edelman makes a super comfy pair that is a bit more expensive and the same pair in black. Basic tees are an absolutely must for any type of capsule wardrobe and I usually get mine from Target when they are 3 for $12 or on a similar sale at Old Navy. So, those are my main staples, but my classic jewelry, such as my Kate Spade watch and colorful stretch bracelets from Cynthia01 Designs. What are your work wear staples? Let me know in the comments 🙂 Thanks for reading y’all. xo, Azanique <3

    Everyday Gift Guide for Her

    Everyday Gift Guide for Her

This post was sponsored by UncommonGoods. Thank you for supporting brands that make Lots of Sass possible.

Hey babes! I hope everyone has had a lovely week and is preparing for an awesome weekend. This weekend is my last relaxing weekend for the next month or so and I am pumped to be able to be home. I know that I always say I am cleaning on the weekends, but I honestly am. I have no idea how my 800 square foot one- bedroom condo gets SO dirty, but by the time Friday is here, it looks like WWIII has gone through my home. I totally need to unpack from my trip (yes, the one I’ve been back from for a week and a half) and organize my cabinets. This season, I am really trying to declutter and simplify my home in hopes of living in a calmer space and in the spirit of donating extra blessings. In my life update, I mentioned leaving my job and changing career paths a bit for several reasons. Because of that, I now have a little more time on my hands and want to tackle many of the troubled spaces in my home with that extra time. So, wish me luck y’all! As much as I love donating and recycling, I totally have a hard time letting go of clothing and jewelry but the time has come to get moving on that.

So, most of y’all know that I LOVE gifts: giving gifts, picking out gifts, surprising people with gifts and participating in random acts of kindness. Last year, I rounded up 10 smalls acts of kindness under $10 and y’all, the responses I got back was A M A Z I N G. So today, I’m sharing an everyday gift guide for the woman/girl/lady in your life all from UncommonGoods. UG is amazing because their products are handmade, recycled and organic AKA does not harm the planet or people or animals. Plus, they have an amazing giveback program where you can choose to donate $1 when checking out, which has totaled over $1M in donations since 2001. Something I have recently been wanting to do more of was be a conscious consumer. That basically, for me, means that I want to know who is making the products I purchase, what are their living conditions, if they are being paid fairly and if they are safe from harmful work environments. It sounds like a big task, right? Not at all. Honestly, the more you research who is making your clothing and products, the easier it is to shop guilt free. All of UGs employees are paid a fair living wage, no matter where they live, and are provided with health insurance. I 100% stand behind what they stand for and that is why I am choosing to share them with you.

This roundup was so fun because all of the gifts can be given during special occasions or just on your average Tuesday – it is totally up to you. My favorites are the wine rack, charging purse (so cool, right) and The Future is Female necklace. My common picks are the fruit diffusing water bottle and simple gold necklace, which is what I wear/carry almost everyday. UG also has a huge selection of choices for guys and gifts for Christmas that you can separate by price and type.

What are your favorites? Let me know in the comments! Use the numbers above or slide below to shop each product. Have a lovely weekend babes -xo, Azanique <3
