I am on a personal mission to read every James Baldwin novel, along with a few other classics, before year end. This book is so interesting because there’s a composition of two letters that really lead the charge. Examining the consequences of racial injustice in America is compelling in itself and I can’t imagine him writing this in the 90s – what a thought provoking and prolific writer.
